Dear Kitty
03:50
|
|||
Her name was Kitty and though she tried she ended up on her own bad side
She asked for advice then looked away, I had never seen such a sorry face
I said dear Kitty now what do you need? Got more rocks in your heart than a river bed
She said I once knew love but now it's gone, now I can't stop singing this sorry song
Oh dear Kitty are you taking it slow?
Oh dear Kitty are you taking it easy?
She said time won't wait for me, she said time won't wait for me
I said dear Kitty how does it go? Sing to me your sorrows
She started to sing that awful tune, then she lost her way and left the room
Oh dear Kitty are you playing with fire
Oh dear Kitty are you walking on thin ice
She said what comes up goes down, she said what comes up must go down
I went outside and watched her go, and where she went I'll never know
Sometimes dear Kitty I sing to you, by the river where I wrote this tune
Oh dear Kitty are you on cloud nine?
Oh dear Kitty are you over the moon?
That's where I will wait for you, that's where I will wait for you

Coming Home
02:09
|
|||
I'm coming home to you darling, like settling rain rain rain
Like settling pain
Escape the cold bite of winter, a moth to a flame flame flame
Oh darling I'm dreaming of you, each night is the same same same
I guess I've been tamed
Old footprints in these gray ashes, still waiting to blow away
I'm waking up to the songbirds, they say it's a brand new day, and spring's on it's way
My dog is chasing a squirrel, she's stuck in her same old ways
Oh darling you'll never change

Distraction
03:08
|
|||
Give me distraction give me something
To tide me over, another four leaf clover for a friend
Give me the bottle give me some time
Before I let in bad news in the morning let me rest a while
I can't keep waking up to bad news
Give me a hope give me a treasure
Thrown to a trash pile, no sight for your sore eyes to see again
Give me a smile give me a reason
To burn all the red flags, close doors on the past, I forget too fast
I can't keep coming home to closed doors
Take all the worry and take the wanting
Then take a load off, stubborn don't go far in the end
I can't keep holding on to the end

Fire waltz
03:20
|
|||
Slow fire slow burn
Quick fire takes a turn
Wrapping old trees around new ones
Slow fire slow burn
Old fire new burn
hearing sounds you never heard
There's a loud one and one in your head
Old fire new burn
Hot fire last wish
Take time to give a kiss
To an old friend to a new love
Hot fire last wish
Cold fire wet wood
Woulda lit it if you could
Still a cold night beats a dead one
Cold fire wet wood
Cold fire x5
Strong fire old life
Takes a turn dark in the night
Couldn't take what you needed with you
Strong fire old life
New fire time to go
Leaving everything you know
Crossing i's and dotting your t's
New fire time to go
Quick fire never learns
Still so young but looking old
Well smoke 'em if you got 'em
Quick fire never learns
Quick fire x5

Howdy Do Tuesday Blues
02:30
|
|||
1 4 2 5 4 1
I dont mind much that this world is so small
Im not one to tell you that you shouldnt want it all
The fox is chasing squirrels while im chasing my own tail
The world is small but it gets bigger when the coffin hits the nail
5 3 4 1 2 4 1 4 1
Oh and i keep second guessing myself into this depression
Howdy do this tuesday darlin waking up with blues in the morning
Now ive done a lot of work and ive loved a lot of dogs
Missed a lot of loved ones and i broke a lot of laws
Everytime I look back i feel my heavy heart
The love the loss the happy times they all play their own part
The end is near the deed is done the apocalypse in bloom
And still I’m gonna smile when I know I’ll see you soon
I’ll keep asking questions and learning how to love
But i’ll never learn the difference ‘tween a pigeon and a dove
